Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

Windy River Farm exceeded every expectation. The property is absolutely breathtaking, with stunning mountain views and a beautifully restored barn that perfectly blends rustic charm with elegance. Every detail of the venue has been thoughtfully designed, creating an unforgettable atmosphere for any wedding or special event. Having visited many potential venues, this property was truly unlike any other. The second you walk in and see those chandeliers, you will know you’ve found the perfect place. The chandeliers alone are reason enough to get married here but there was so much more! From the ceremony vista view to the cocktail barn, the grooms tavern, the bridal room, the HUMMER(!!) and the ...

I cannot say enough beautiful things about this amazing venue! My husband and I fell in love with it the moment we stepped into the barn, our hearts knew it was the one. They were so accommodating of having our little dog Haylee there as they knew how much she meant to us, although she passed before our wedding we were so beyond impressed with how much they cared to help us have her there. The venue is magnificent and all our guests were truly blown away! I got to ride in a hummer to the ceremony which was such a unique entrance! Marion one of the owners calmed my nerves when things didn’t go as planned as they typically don’t and helped every step of the way and her husband William was alwa...

We had or wedding here 10/4/25 and to say it was anything short of perfect would be an injustice. Marion and her husband are wonderful people and they do an amazing job with the barn, the grounds, the decor and evberything else. From start to finish they were there asking if there was anything they could do for us to make our day better. I won't be getting married again, but if I could do this all over again I absolutely would. Thank you for allowing us to use your beautiful space on our special day!

I recently had the pleasure of visiting **Windy River Farm** as I help plan my goddaughter’s wedding there later this summer, and I was absolutely blown away. The moment I pulled into the driveway, I was greeted by hummingbirds, songbirds, and the kind of peaceful Vermont beauty that instantly sets the tone for a perfect celebration. The reception barn is stunning — chandeliers, décor, tables, and the cocktail barn all come together in a way that feels both elegant and welcoming. As the wedding planner, having such a thoughtful indoor/outdoor flow (and a solid weather backup plan) is a huge relief. It’s truly ideal for Vermont’s Summer and Fall seasons. The ceremony arbor on the hill is br...

After our experience with My Vermont Wedding Barn, it is difficult to truly find the words to captivate our weekend. Will and Marion didn’t provide us with only a venue, but they provided a feeling of home and genuineness. They devote so much of their time making the venue feel like yours and make effort to know you and your family. Not only was the barn beautiful, but the cocktail barn was simply amazing. Will and Marion provide such hospitality and are there to help your day be as stress free. We utilized a beautiful bridal suite, men’s tavern, 1 of 2 ceremony sites, and an arbor we were able to choose of the many they have already. This venue will forever hold a special place in our heart...
