Planning perspective
What to consider before reaching out
A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.
For a catering partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

We absolutely loved working with Nikki for our wedding! She was so kind, accommodating, and incredibly easy to work with, especially since we were planning our wedding from out of state. Unfortunately, we never got the chance to meet her in person, but she was such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. She took my vision and brought it to life even better than I could have imagined! Everything looked beautiful and tasted AMAZING. Our guests absolutely loved the cupcakes and whoopie pies, and even my husband—who is probably the biggest whoopie pie critic—gave them his stamp of approval! 😂 We are so grateful she was a part of our special day. Everything was perfect, and we ...

Nikki did an absolutely amazing job with our wedding cake and cupcakes for our guests. She brought our vision of our wedding cake to life and made the best cake I have ever had! Our guests are still raving about how good the cupcakes were! Nikki was super easy to work with and very on top of things! We highly recommend Thistle & Honey Baking if you ever need baked goods!

Ordered a cake for my daughter’s two-year-old birthday. It was very pretty and buttercream icing was delicious and the taste was very well balanced. The cake itself was rather dry but I think it may have been made the day before. I’d return to ordering from here and just ask if it’d be possible to produce a moister cake for the day of pickup. All in all, clearly a talented and friendly baker.

Thistle and Honey Baking's treats are absolutely out of this world!!!! Nikki is a master of cookies, pastries, pies, and any dessert you can imagine! I am not a cake person, but I LOVE her cakes. Her strawberry short-cupcake is so fresh, and her blueberry lemon cake is light and tangy. Highly recommend any of her bars and her maple whoopie pies. If you have an upcoming special event or are just looking to send a pick me up to a friend, Nikki is your girl. She's catered multiple art opening receptions at my gallery (including delivery and set up of the treats, all on short notice with special requests!) and I'm hoping she can make our wedding cake if she can squeeze us into her schedule. *fin...

I'm very happy I chose Thistle and Honey baking for my wedding! I have a huge sweet tooth, so the dessert table was one of my big priorities. The apple orchard cake was a huge hit! And it was decorated beautifully with fall leaves. Nikki also helped us choose options for our guests with allergies. We chose salted caramel tarts (a favorite of mine) and GF/DF mini apple pies to fill out the table. Absolutely scrumptious!
