Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

It was the first time staying at The Woodshed, and it was amazing. My youngest has autism, and I thought that having a home-like place to stay was going to work out better than a resort, and it sure did. The Woodshed was the perfect place, super accommodating. The owner was super attentive and flexible. Breakfast was fresh, and they try their best to have locally sourced ingredients. They have free snacks available and a nice hot tub. I wished it wasn’t raining so we could’ve enjoyed the property a bit more, the fire area and the grill looks amazing. Beautiful views, and everything was clean. We will be back for sure! We love going to the indoor waterpark at Jay Peak Resort, but staying here...

We absolutely loved our time here! Perfect way to escape the stresses of day to day life. This lodge is the definition of take it slow and relax. The setting is very rustic, and peaceful -gives you an old fashion feel. Loved the decor. Local milk and spring water was in glass jars rather store bought jugs, Breakfast was really good - self serve style buffet. The owner was very kind and the place was very clean. Theres a hot tub, with lights and jets! Also theres a complimentary gas grill, fire pit with chairs and a small pond to sit around. Would return here again & 10/10 would recommend!

My wife and I stayed here during the off-session (July, during a heat wave), and had a great time. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and quiet, and the grounds were beautiful. It was good to be able to sit by the pond with a coffee in the morning, or use the hot tub after a day's bicycling. Orion (the owner / innkeeper) was friendly, and helped us out with recommendations for things to do in the area, and the breakfast was great - a nice mix of cold options and something warm made to order, everything high quality. I'd highly recommend staying here if you want something a little more relaxed and homey than a resort.

The only bad part of this stay was not staying longer. We made a very last min reservation here for my fiancé, myself, and our two huskies. They have two dog friendly rooms and a separate cabin from the main lodge. We were booked in the cabin and it far exceeded our expectations. Not only was the cabin super stocked but the little details were so cool. Waking up to a delicious breakfast including a handmade drink was 20/10 in terms of experience. We even were shown a photo book showing the history of the lodge. We wanted to say goodbye but you were busy so thought this would work. We can’t wait to be back!
