Planning perspective
What to consider before reaching out
A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.
For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

We had an absolutely fantastic evening at The Quechee Inn restaurant. The service was impeccable, and our server, who happens to be a rising opera singer, made the night truly memorable. The food was phenomenal from start to finish, and the chocolate cake was simply unforgettable. With its deep history dating back to the 1700s, this is hands-down the must-visit spot in Quechee. Don’t miss it!

First the negative - the mattress was not good. Old feeling, spring mattress and the center sank down. They really need to upgrade the bed in that particular room anyway, as I can't speak for the other rooms. That's one of, if not the most important thing about a person's stay overnight. It can make or break the experience. The restaurant was good. Waiters were nice and the food was good and the breakfasts were great! It's a very unique, old building with a lot of charm and some rustic-ness. My only suggestion is to make sure the beds are comfortable. Mattresses are not that expensive.

I booked the family suite for one night on a weekend in February. The location is excellent, close to cross country skiing at Lake Pinneo, downhill skiing at Quechee club, snowshoeing on the trail right across the street by Dewey's pond (you may also be able to ice skate there, but the surface looked bumpy), and convenient to other Quechee and Woodstock restaurants. The room itself is very large and you could fit a lot of people in there, with a king, double, twin, plus a pull out sofa and a folded cot in the closet. The room appeared clean but under the beds and furniture was very dusty (I was only looking while searching for a toy car that rolled under). The odd thing was that we checke...

We ate at the restaurant but didn't stay at the inn. The food was amazing. Very flavorful and well cooked. We tried the mussels, their steak special and the lobster roll. Greed kept us nibbling past the point of full. Our server was not having her best day, which happens. She was apologetic and the restaurant made it right by comping dessert after several mistakes. Other servers in our area were on top of their game (one even checked on us), so I would absolutely give them another shot.

We sent two letters to the inn and was never given the respect of a response from anyone. Below is the horrible experience we had at our last stay. We are beyond disappointed and hope that by now posting on their site we will redo a response . Dear Michele: I am writing regarding our recent stay at The Quechee Inn at Marshland Farm. Unfortunately, what should have been a relaxing and enjoyable visit was a very disappointing and upsetting experience. My family and I have been patronizing this establishment for nearly 50 years since the late 1970’s. My wife and I traveled from Cape Cod expecting the same level of hospitality and service we have always associated with the inn. Sadly, severa...
