Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

As an entertainment vendor, we love collaborating with and at great venues that are hospitable, accommodating, kind, and above all -- team players. Beyond having a great couple (hi, Melissa and Jonathan!), Jen and her staff were incredibly knowledgable and very supportive of our success as a strategic partner. Meals were great, parking directions were clear, wifi was stable, and the venue was beautiful! We've just added them on our preferred vendor list so if you're looking for a great private event experience in New England, look no further! 10/10 experience -- highly recommend!

My now husband and I celebrated our wedding weekend at the Van Horn Estate. From Wednesday through Monday, family and friends from all over stayed on the property and enjoyed the gorgeous views, weather, and amenities. We wanted our wedding to be all about our people, and by being able to have most people stay at the venue where all events took place, we certainly lucked out! Our first evening, the Rehearsal Dinner was between The Isaac Bistro & Pub, the main spaces in the Manor, and the gorgeous patio right off the restaurant space. It was absolutely perfect, from great food to many bar options, everyone had a fabulous time! The next day, the gentleman spent the morning out on Squam Lake, ...

We were lucky enough to book our New Year's Eve Wedding at the Mirador. We arrived in the midst of an ice storm, and feared the worst. The staff worked tirelessly, shovelling, plowing, salting every inch of the property to ensure the safety of our guests and the success of the event, and they kept reaffirming how happy and excited they were to host everyone. 130 guests sang praises to us about how amazing the venue, food, scenery, and staff were. The chef and his team also accommodated my bride's gluten allergy and made some modifications to ensure everything was safe for her and her mother. I don't plan on having another wedding, but I'd happily come back.

The Mirador was a fantastic venue for our company's Christmas party this year. The grounds are beautiful and the building itself was very well decorated, welcoming, and had a great flow for our event. The service was outstanding and the food even better. Highly recommend, no complaints. Wonderfully comfortable and welcoming environment. Will definitely be back.

My son and daughter-in-law just had their wedding at the Van Horne Estates. Everything was wonderful. The rooms, the food, the communication, the rehearsal dinner, the included breakfast. We had an amazing weekend. We couldn't have asked for more.
