Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

Why this business stood out

The verified notes

  • Formal gardens serve as the ceremony backdrop
  • Ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all on one walkable property
  • Some reviews flag inconsistent upkeep of the inn rooms

I married my wife there in 2009. Shelly and Doug were great hosts and made us feel really special! We came back on our 7th wedding anniversary and it was equally amazing as our first stay!

We recently filmed a wedding at the Lilac Inn. It's a beautiful location. Their gardens make for a wonderful backdrop. Everything is on location so guests can go from Ceremony, to cocktail to reception easily. The town of Brandon is a gem. I recommend for small to mid sized weddings.

We so looked forward to a one night stay in this beautiful in the pictures inn. Wow, reality was so different. This property is so sad and in serious need of maintenance. Peeling paint, untended gardens on the outside reflected a lack of caring by the owner. We were shocked to see that some people used this as a wedding venue. The inside of out expensive suite was dirty, the a/c didn't work, paint touch ups everywhere, dirty and frayed furnishings completed out room and the rest of the building as well. We were glad to leave.

Gorgeous Inn. Gardens are so beautiful you don't want to leave. Friendly and accommodating staff and owner. Update. Return visit 3 years later, just as special and charming. Owner Shelly is the perfect host along with the other staff that took care of us, Erica and Casey. Rooms are so unique and comfortable. Why stay at a hotel when you can get personal service in the most historical setting. We really lived sipping our coffee on the front porch, which is so European it can hardly be called a porch. We will be back!

We had our wedding here this week and it was absolutely perfect. Our guests loved the venue and oh my god the FOOD! We requested a completely vegan meal with a southern comfort food vibe and every dish was incredible. Everyone who works here is kind and professional and they all worked so hard to make sure our few days there went smoothly and beautifully. Thank you!!
