Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

My husband and I put a lot of thought into where we wanted our wedding and are so happy we chose The Barn at Boyden Farm. Not only was Lauri responsive, provided numerous materials and guides to help us through the day, but she was always a kind face that was much needed during wedding planning stress. Our guests had no issues finding the venue, enjoyed the outdoor patio and ceremony site, and partied it up inside the barn. I was able to host multiple women for getting ready in the bridal suite while my husband enjoyed the groom area. Each moment at the venue was well thought out and Lauri's experience in the industry shines through.

We wouldn’t change a thing about our wedding day. The Barn at Boyden Farm is absolutely perfect and exactly what we were looking for. Lauri and her entire team are incredible and so easy to work with. They had the perfect blend of being available and resourceful, all while giving us the space to make our own vision come to life. The barn is just stunning. It’s rustic, it’s clean, it was the best canvas to put our own touch on. We ended up with the most perfect weather in mid-September, but Lauri was ready and willing to help us pivot with storms looming. We were most drawn to this venue because it didn’t feel like they “churn and burn” weddings every day of the weekend. We loved being able...

Our wedding at The Barn at Boyden Farm in September 2023 was more perfect than we could have ever imagined! Since our wedding, multiple guests have reached out to us to say how much they loved our venue. The outside space is gorgeous with Mountain views, pretty sunsets, and plenty of space for lawn games. The inside of the barn is both beautiful and very well laid out; it's so nice on its own that it requires minimal decorations. Lauri and her staff were wonderful. They made sure that things ran smoothly the weekend of the wedding (we did not hire a wedding planner/coordinator and it was completely fine) and were really nice to work with. It was also awesome to have the whole venue to ourse...

First of all we would like to say thank you to Lauri Boyden for the amazing weekend she hosted for us. Since our first meeting at the barn last year and up to our wedding day in October this year we have been overjoyed with how we were treated and the level of service Lauri and her team provided to us. Words used to describe our weekend were perfect, epic, spectacular, magical and full of love! The weather, the view, the sheer beauty of this venue made the most memorable weekend. It was the Hallmark wedding we envisioned, the rustic barn, the lights, the Mountain View and let’s not forget the red tractor! We loved having access to the barn/property the whole weekend. Lauri was there to su...

We got married at Boyden on 10/5/24: 6 stars out of 5 would recommend! We had peak foliage and beautifully sunny, crisp weather, and couldn't have asked for more. Boyden was the last venue we saw on our VT venue tour, and we knew that as soon as we saw it and met Lauri, that we were meant to get married here. Lauri was a HUGE part of the reason we went with Boyden- she is warm, unbelievably professional, and someone we fully trusted to have our back on our big day. Other key perks of Boyden are that it offers a great rain plan that we felt was 80% as good as the sunny weather plan, and is one of the few VT venues we saw with both heat and a/c. Having guests stay at Smuggs was a huge plus, s...
