Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a catering partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

We hired Stones Throw for both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding reception the next day, and both meals were spectacular. Every single guest we talked to raved about the food and there were no leftovers. In addition to being delicious, the food was also served beautifully. Everything was seasonal and fresh, which is exactly what we wanted. Laura and Casey were a pleasure to work with. The hardest part was actually picking what meal to serve since every menu they suggested looked incredible. They did a great job accommodating our guests' dietary restrictions and customizing the meal to our tastes. Stones Throw is a huge part of what made our wedding so special, and we highly recommend the...

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Stones Throw. We booked Stones Throw for our recent wedding of about 100 guests that happened recently. Throughout the whole planning process they were there to answer every question we had and ensured us that everything would work exactly how we dreamed it. They started with a magnificent menu that is like no other typical wedding caterer which had us excited from the start. We also had our wedding at a venue that unfortunately did not have a catering kitchen, but they again ensured us that they could do it with just rentals. They most certainly kept that promise! The food was amazing and all of our guests were raving about it and st...

Stones Throw helped us put together a wonderful menu for our wedding and executed it perfectly! The food came out all at the same time (not even sure how that is possible), and it was restaurant quality. They truly helped us to create the family style dinner we had always dreamed of for our wedding. We cannot say enough great things about Stones Throw and would absolutely recommend them!

There is sooooo much to say about Stones Throw Catering, to say that this is the best catering company in Midcoast Maine feels like an understatement. Laura and Casey catered our wedding and did the most AMAZING job. We met several times before the wedding to plan the menu and they were both highly professional, not only listening to our hopes and dreams for the menu, but expanding upon our ideas with their own creative spins. We are avid gardeners, and have a huge vegetable garden, so it was really important to us that they incorporate our veggies into the menu, which they did with such whimsy! We are already looking forward to our 10 year anniversary so that we can hire them again!

Pick the city you and most of your guests will be driving from and we will estimate the trip.

An estimate for planning, not live traffic. Leafy weekends in October always take longer.
