Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

We love this place and come every year at least for one long weekend. The Manor House rooms are uniquely lovely, the view is great, the Library Lounge (martini bar) is cosy and relaxing, and dinner in the Wild Rose restaurant is superb. The Mountain View rooms are perfect for kids or dogs. An outdoor pool and hot tub are newly redone. Plus, North Conway is literally 5 minutes away for shoping, lunch, a ride on the Conway Scenic railway, or to go skiing. Perfect in any season.

The entire place smells like a fireplace. This place is a trap. They offer the dinner and breakfast as all included, but the food worse than the hotel. Salmon tasted very fishy. The potatoes looked like they were cooked a couple days previous. They had one order of the soup of the day and we were one of the first people there. Obviously, it was made days in advance. Other dishes just had added butter to cover the old ingredients. Hotel is historic and the staff try to make it better. Oh, if you have issues with stairs, there are no elevators. We had some big bags from traveling. Lugging them up the stairs would not be good for older people.

Our first visit in 2023 for New Year's Eve dinner was so wonderful, we attempted to repeat the experience in 2024. There were no indications of a special menu (I even e-mailed to inquire and there was no response) and the dish we both wanted was not being served. We opted to leave. I wrote sharing the disappointment and how we had traveled over 2 hours and rented a hotel room for the night and... no response. This past weekend for our anniversary, we decided on one more try. The server was quite attentive and polite. The dish "The Wild Rose" was just 'okay', yet vastly different from 2023. And the least enjoyable part of the experience was having to be subjected to listening to the wait staf...

I went to StoneHurst Manor-in North Conway for a much needed meal out with my husband. I ordered a ginger ale, and my husband ordered a bourbon on the rocks. We were looking over the menu-when I caught a scrunched up look on my husband’s face. The bourbon was a lighter color than my ginger ale. My husband, a bourbon enthusiast- was absolutely FURIOUS. HOW DO YOU WATER DOWN A DRINK THAT HAS JUST ONE LIQUOR ON THE ROCKS? We live in North Conway, and this used to be a favorite place. The consensus among friends of ours is that the new owners are cutting corners here and at the Red Parka. We will not return and meet ups with friends will take place elsewhere from now on. Absolutely disgraceful a...

My girlfriend and I had an incredibly beautiful and relaxing time away here at the Stonehurst manor. From booking the room over the phone, arrival and check in as well as all questions were handled by Mike. Very friendly and informative during our stay. The manor is absolutely beautiful, and the smell of wood fire place permeates the building. A victorian feel, and historically kept. The room was beautiful and spacious and was very home felt and relaxing. We enjoyed an incredible dinner and breakfast at the Wild Rose restaurant located in the manor itself. It was an absolutely beautiful experience and we will be back again soon.

Getting here

How far is this from home?

Pick the city you and most of your guests will be driving from and we will estimate the trip.

An estimate for planning, not live traffic. Leafy weekends in October always take longer.

Adair Country Inn, Bethlehem

Small, romantic, and lovely for the first night.

Three stops worth the detour

Somewhere pretty for photographs, and somewhere warm for a good cup of coffee.

Jackson Falls

Tiered water and old stone walls, minutes from the village.

The drive itself is the photograph, especially in October.
