Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

What a lovely place near Squam Lake. Wonderful and friendly staff from the moment you arrive. The late night cookies were a nice touch! Breakfast was outstanding each day and one of the best dinners I have had in some time. The rooms were charming and quiet. Could not be more satisfied

We went there twice in 10 days, once with two people and once with five people. We ate in the bar area the first meal and service was too slow. We wanted a second drink but didn't get the chance. We got the steak special and it was tough for both of us. Second time we were outside and the service was better. The food once again was mediocre. As an example, fried chicken dinner - fries were limp and lukewarm, chicken coating was hard and fell off, although the flavor was ok. Appetizers were good. Overall, for acting like a higher end restaurant with the prices to match, the food was not very good and the service uneven. We have gone there for years but I think we're done. Maybe Walters...

Off the beaten path but totally worth the drive. The atmosphere was peaceful and pleasant. Decor was beautiful and clean. Everything was spotless actually. Rooms and linen smelled great. Food at the restaurant was also excellent. Only had the breakfast but the place was packed for dinner. Went for a walk early morning and the area was very quiet and memorable. Highly recommend.

This is my second time visiting Squam Lake Inn and I will likely return yearly. The staff is incredibly kind, helpful and welcoming. I ate breakfast and dinner there during my stay and was delighted with the variety and creativity that the meals were prepared. My room this year was upstairs next to the tea/coffee bar that always has fresh cookies put out, very nice and convenient. My room was a beautiful suite that was just right for me lovely to come back to after a day out.

We absolutely loved our stay at Squam Lake Inn! The owners have made sure to pay attention to all details, and were very intentional with everything, from the items in the rooms to the food served. We loved the restaurant so much we went back twice! Our entire stay was lovely.
