Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a photo & video partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

I'm a wedding planner who planned a wedding that Shado photographed. His process is so fantastic - I love how much effort he puts into getting to know the couple before the wedding day! It's such a great way to make the couple comfortable in front of the camera, resulting in truly fantastic, personal, lovely photos. I absolutely recommend working with Shado!

Stunning. Intentional. Laughter. Wow, Shado was incredible. We immediately connected with him and his values from the first consultation. He was kind, down to earth, and creative. Not only is he a wonderful human being, his work speaks for itself. I will say it again, stunning. With the seascapes of Maine as the backdrop, he truly brought our vision to life. He was personable with our families, inclusive and easy going. Shado is definitely someone we will keep in our contacts for future life events.

We had such a great experience working with Shado again for our vow renewal photos! He's fun, easy to work with, and does an amazing job not only giving posing directions but actually demonstrating them, which I found incredibly helpful. He brought so much energy and creativity to the sunrise shoot, was flexible with the early timing, and kept everything fun and relaxed. The photos turned out absolutely gorgeous—honestly exactly what I was hoping for—and we had such a hard time narrowing down our favorites because there were so many we loved. He captured so many different angles and perspectives throughout the session, and I'd absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer. We...

It was the easiest decision of our planning process to book Shado as our wedding photographer after he did such a beautiful job on our engagement photos. In the months leading up to the wedding, he took a lot of time and care to understand the ethos and vibe we were going for, and that absolutely translated to how the photos look and feel. He and his second shooter Jordan went above and beyond to capture every single moment from our day, and it was so easy working with them. We are so beyond happy with how the gallery turned out. There were some challenging lighting situations throughout the day, especially in the church, and you would never know it looking at the photos. We can’t recommend ...

As a wedding coordinator, I have the opportunity to work alongside many talented photographers, and the ShadoOfaRose Team was truly a pleasure to collaborate with. The feedback shared with me by the couple after the wedding was exceptional. They felt genuinely cared for and appreciated how much time and attention was given to recognizing important family members and members of the wedding party during group photos. That level of thoughtfulness made a lasting impression. From a coordinator's perspective, what stood out most was the energy and positive presence they brought to the day. After a brief walkthrough of the venue, they confidently took the lead when it came to photography. They we...
