What to consider before reaching out
A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.
For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

Great resort in a spectacular setting. Beautiful views of the bay surround you. Gorgeous golf course (but I’m not a golfer). That said, be aware this is a very family friendly resort so there are lots of young children and the dining room does reflect that. Not ideal for fine dining and the food is just ok anyway so book restaurants offsite ( lots of good restaurants in Rockland and Camden) if you’re dining without kids. Tons of activities: tennis, basketball, kids’ programs, spa, etc. But note that there is no beach and the outdoor pool is also kid-friendly. Great staff- very friendly and helpful. Our only disappointment was the dining room.

We had a lovely vacation at the Samoset Resort with our daughter and her children. From the moment we arrived, the employees were welcoming, responsive. and professional. Our room was in perfect condition, with an attractive view of the golf course and Penobscot Bay. We ate dinner in the dining room and our meal was delicious. We walked the grounds daily, enjoyed many hours at the pool, and totally relaxed. Thank you for a wonderful, busy vacation. We hope to be back.

We visited the Samoset Resort with friends of ours in July 2026. Overall, our visit was very positive, but there are some things we would like to share so that the resort can try to improve. First, the pros though. The grounds are beautiful. The gold course looked great and the resort has one of the finest ocean-view outdoor pools and hot tubs in the entire state. You can also do a 2-mile round-trip walk from the resort to a lighthouse across a breakwater. The rooms are generally very good, with comfortable beds and quality pillows. The indoor pool was very large and so was the exercise room (professional gym-quality equipment). Now the cons. The biggest con probably won't surprise you if yo...

From check in to check out, had a wonderful time. Beautiful, well maintained large room with ocean view, promo service when needed and enjoyed our dinner in the hotel dining room. Food was off the charts great and our server was one of the best we have had anywhere. His knowledge on the food and interesting wines was top notch!

Such an amazing experience and stay at Samoset. Everyone was so friendly and the property and rooms are meticulously maintained. The food was so good, as well! We ended up eating there most of the trip because we thought the food was so good at the hotel! Easy to come and go from other areas. The views are breathtaking. Already miss it!
