Planning perspective
What to consider before reaching out
A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.
For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

All we can say is wow. Our wedding at the Old Gray Barn gave us what was truly the best day of our life. The ceremony site was magical with unbelievable views, and the barn provides a perfect, cozy, rustic cocktail hour and reception. I can't explain the amount of compliments we got - best wedding, prettiest venue, best wedding food (that's a big one), and overall best wedding vibes. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a perfect countryside wedding. Everyone felt like they were home.

Rustic wedding experience with gorgeous countryside views in Dorset, Vermont. The staff is easy to work with and the load in is easy. The lower floor holds the reception and has a stage and ample space. The upstairs loft has a bar and a deck to the side of the building. The loft have access to private rooms for the wedding party. Great venue!

We had an October wedding at the Old Gray Barn. We didn’t tour the venue or taste the food ahead of time (destination wedding), and we were amazed by the quality of food, level of service from the staff, and beauty of the barn. The food was outstanding and portions were very generous. We heard lots of compliments from our guests on how good the food was. It was pouring down rain on our wedding day, so we couldn’t enjoy the beauty of the outdoors spaces and missed out on the s’mores and bonfire we had planned. However, the venue was able to adjust and moved our cocktail hour inside without a hitch. We are so grateful that we chose the Old Gray Barn for our wedding!
