Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a hotel rooms partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

Our stay at the North Conway Grand Hotel was pleasant in terms of the location and the friendliness of the staff. However, our experience with the food and some of the facilities was very disappointing and far below what we expected from a hotel of this category. On our first evening, I ordered the clam chowder, but it was extremely greasy and I was unable to eat it. The following morning, we had breakfast, which was included with our room. Since we paid a premium for a package that included breakfast, we expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, the eggs tasted like processed eggs rather than fresh eggs, the bacon was undercooked, the potatoes were bland and lacked even basic seas...

I will say the location of the hotel is awesome. But my husband and I did have some issues. My husbands only request was that we find a room with a hot tub. The hot tub would not hold water, it just kept draining on its own. About 20 minutes after we checked in I went down and spoke to someone and he told me someone would be up in 15 minutes to look at it. That never happened! So the next day I went back down and spoke to someone else who basically told me the same thing. Also never happened! Then the last night of our stay i spoke to a manager who asked me if I wanted to change room. Which I did not find the need to move rooms and all our stuff the day before we left. Had someone offered fo...

Did an overnight getaway with my wife and we had a nice stay. Beds are very nice w great sheets and pillows ( very important!). The outdoor Pool was nice and warm, and the hot tub was great. The hotel has a nice lodge vibe. It’s right next to a well laid out outlet mall with some nice outdoor features. We had breakfast at little coffee shop and the dark roast was excellent. Would def stay here again.

I never write negative reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel other travelers should know. When we arrived, the front desk staff was friendly and check-in went smoothly. Unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. Our first room was clearly not cleaned properly. There was trash on the bed frame, hair on the bed, dust throughout the room, and it looked like the floors hadn’t been vacuumed. We went to the front desk, and they apologized and moved us to another room. The second room was just as bad—dirty, unclean, and completely unacceptable. At that point, we decided we weren’t comfortable staying there. We returned to the front desk, requested a full refund,...

Overall a decent hotel. The rooms were subpar. Clean…enough- corners of the room had cobwebs and there was definitely a smell of smoke in our room. One of the tv remotes didn’t work and room overall could use a facelift. The ice machines didn’t work, and we checked all the floors. Breakfast in the morning is good and definitely a family friendly hotel. Room for improvement though

Getting here

How far is this from home?

Pick the city you and most of your guests will be driving from and we will estimate the trip.

An estimate for planning, not live traffic. Leafy weekends in October always take longer.

Three stops worth the detour

Somewhere pretty for photographs, and somewhere warm for a good cup of coffee.

The drive itself is the photograph, especially in October.
