Planning perspective
What to consider before reaching out
A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.
For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

Adrienne, Sam, and team at Mad River barn were amazing. My wife and I opened up their spring wedding season this May and not have asked for a better event. The food was excellent. We loved working with Adrienne from start to finish, and the day of went flawlessly. The Pinterest shed was incredibly helpful so we did not have to bring too many materials to the venue and spend money on things we would only use once. The grounds were absolutely beautiful with wildflowers and fresh cut grass. We also loved having our family and friends on site that night to keep the party going and keep everyone safe. Everyone was professional kind, and a true pleasure to work with. We will certainly be back for ...

I don’t even know if I have the words to describe this AMAZING place!! The people, the grounds, the service, the staff, the accommodations , the food, the after hours ability to enjoy the pub, the bonfire, the set up. They had it all for our daughter’s wedding! They were chill with everything!! This was the perfect venue and I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was and I highly highly Recommend Mad River barn.

Better than we could have imagined! Mad River Barn was the perfect fit for our wedding. The venue (and location!) is gorgeous, the food was incredible, and the MRB team went above and beyond to make our day truly special. Our family and friends had a blast and were blown away by the space. It was a true Vermont wedding. We lucked out with weather — the sun peeked out right as our ceremony began, but it was such a relief knowing the barn was there as a backup. We also loved that we could decorate essentially however we wanted, and their "Pinterest shed" of decor items was a game changer. So many beautiful pieces from previous guests to choose from, which meant we didn't have to spend much at...

On a busy holiday Sunday, staff was fun, hustling, and on point. Gracious host (even while cleaning and helping staff!) great bartenders getting it done! Food was Ala excellent. It’s so good to see a place rise to a busy (hopefully expected) night, rather than being swamped and overwhelmed. Good job by all! And the space is lovely, right near bases of Mad River and Sugarbush. Nothin’ better than the Mad River Valley!
