As a wedding photographer, I LOVEEEEE The Lyman Estate in Waltham. It's a classic New England estate venue with so much character. The mansion itself is gorgeous, with its historic architecture, beautiful vintage wallpaper, classic New England moldings and high ceilings, antique sculptures and a library, and light-filled rooms that make getting ready and portraits effortless. You can have your ceremony or reception in the mansion depending on your guest count, which makes for a beautiful rain plan. Even the covered porch is so cute, and great for sunny or rainy days! We had our wedding here in October 2025. It's a beautiful venue both inside and out, at a reasonable price! The greenhouses are amazing, especially if it rains. Nicole was incredibly friendly and responsive, and she was really helpful in planning out the day. She and her coordination team were very competent - we didn’t have anything to worry about on the day of the wedding since they took care of everything! They also worked seamlessly with our vendors. It definitely helps to pick vendors from their recommended list, since they are all professionals who have done weddings at Lyman many times and know Nicole and her team well.

Not much to see inside the mansion as they don’t have any old furniture and just a few new furniture. But the plants and flowers in the greenhouse are worth to visit.

Tough to review this estate and historic home. The building is lovely and wonderfully maintained, but it's nearly empty of furnishings or any real sense of history and personality. That's because it seems the primary purpose of the home is to host weddings and other events, so most rooms are either empty or contain modern furniture or catering equipment. The tour was just OK, our guide jumped around a lot in the narrative history and seemed unsure of a lot of the facts about the estate. On the positive side the greenhouse was very cool, fully operational with many plants being grown.
