Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a hair & beauty partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

Kara and Cait did a fabulous job taking care of hair and makeup for my wedding day! My trial with Kara went great- she listened to my vision and made it come to life so beautifully. She and Cait easily handled all 8 of my family members on my wedding morning- they worked efficiently but never once made us feel rushed; they took time to listen how each person wanted to look and feel! Cait returned on day 2 for our reception and nailed my look just like Kara did! I'm so pleased I chose Kara Day and her team- I highly recommend for anyone looking for wedding or event hair/makeup!

Kara Day and her team were absolutely incredible! Kara was so easy and wonderful to work with throughout the entire process, and she made me feel so beautiful, relaxed, and completely pampered on my wedding morning. My bridesmaids also loved their hair and makeup by Cait and Brianna, and everyone looked amazing. The whole team was talented, professional, and such a calming, positive presence to have with us while getting ready. I could not recommend them more highly—five stars!

My husband and I had a destination wedding in Maine in October. I was hesitant to get my makeup done for the wedding, as I seldom wear any makeup and really wanted to feel and look like myself day of and when looking back at pictures. I've had my makeup professionally done for a handful of weddings in the past that I was a part of, and although I communicated the desire to look natural, my makeup never turned out that way. Anyway, I had a trial with Kat from Kara's team over the summer, and it went SO well! She fully understood what I was communicating and adjusted as requested to ensure I felt entirely comfortable, beautiful, and like myself. I was so confident in booking her for my big da...

Kara and Rachel did hair and makeup for my wedding day, and they were both fantastic! Kara also did my hair and makeup for our rehearsal dinner, and I couldn't stop staring at her work. Kara does amazing soft glam makeup, but I knew I wanted something more full glam since I wear makeup almost daily and struggle with acne prone skin, and she absolutely delivered! When I went for my trial with Kara, I didn't look in the mirror until she was completely done with my hair and makeup, and I actually cried when she turned me to face the mirror because of how beautiful I felt. I had that same feeling about the makeup and hair Kara did for the rehearsal dinner and wedding day - it was perfect. I'd ab...

Lauren and Bri did a phenomenal job making me feel so confident on my wedding day. I highly recommended hiring them for any bridal needs + mother of the bride as well. My mom and I had the best time getting ready together with Lauren and Bri, as they truly made us feel so special on such a beautiful day. They provided the most professional, yet also fun experience with their talents! Brides, book them for your big day, you will not regret it!!! 🤍
