Planning perspective
What to consider before reaching out
A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.
For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

There are simply not enough words to express how grateful we are to Laura, Charlie, the owners of Josiah's River Farm. From the moment we first visited, we knew it was somewhere special—but what truly sets this venue apart isn't just the breathtaking property, it's the people behind it. Throughout the entire planning process, Laura was incredibly communicative, thoughtful, and supportive. Even during the winter months while she and Charlie were away, she continued to answer questions and make sure we felt completely taken care of. Every interaction gave us confidence that we were in the best hands. On our wedding day, they both went above and beyond to make the entire experience completely...

We got married here a couple weeks ago and it was the perfect venue. Laura and Charlie are so kind, and we were grateful the space allowed for a rain plan! There is a bridal suite and the grounds/forest are also beautiful.

Josias River Farm was an absolute dream to have our wedding at. Laura and Charlie were nothing short of amazing to work with, they let you fully enjoy your day as if it’s your own but are there if you ever need anything. It truly felt like home when we were there because of how welcoming they are. The property is stunning and the atmosphere is the type you dream of your for wedding. My husband and I felt as comfortable as could be and so did all of our family and friends. Laura was so accommodating to our schedules for visits and Charlie was a joy every time we saw him and got to talk to him. The venue is beautiful, the bridal suite is amazing and the barn is breathtaking. It really was our...

My husband and I got married at Josias River Farm in July 2023 and it was a magical weekend. From our initial visit with Laura and Charlie we knew this was exactly where we wanted to get married. If you are looking for a location that is intimate, customizable, full of natural beauty, and truly a dream, this is the place for you. What is special about Josias River is that you can make it exactly what you want. It's not a cookie cutter venue where you start at 6 and are kicked out by 11, but rather you have the property for an extended period. Between the garden, the yard, and the barn, we had our welcome party, wedding, and Sunday morning brunch all at Josias River and each event was unique ...
