Planning perspective
What to consider before reaching out
A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.
For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

There was no better place for us to get married than Jimmy’s Jazz and Blues Club. When we toured the space, we immediately knew this was the place we would begin our next chapter together. Jimmy’s is unique, you want to explore every nook, and it offers so much. Everyone who works at Jimmy’s is kind, hospitable, and takes pride in the venue. Rachel, our venue coordinator, was very professional, informative, and available for any and every question we had. The food and drinks were gourmet at every occasion from the private tasting, the lunch for the wedding party, cocktail hour, dinner, to late night snacks. The gallery was a spacious place to hold our cocktail hour, offering our guests a var...

If you’re considering Jimmy’s Jazz & Blues Club as a wedding venue, stop looking: book it. We had our winter wedding there this past December with about 200 guests. We used the art gallery for cocktail hour (highly recommend) and then moved upstairs for the reception. The entire experience was incredible. The food was phenomenal, we went with the filet and the halibut, and the cocktails were clearly made with care. Even with a full crowd, nothing felt rushed. The 3 bars upstairs moved very quick. The espresso martinis in particular were a huge hit with our guests. The staff truly made the night. Weddings are hectic and the day flies by, but Rachel and her team made everything feel complete...

I grew up in New England and always dreamt of bringing our Midwest friends and family back to my home for our wedding. I couldn't think of a better, more unique venue to showcase how cool Portsmouth is! We absolutely loved working with Jimmy's and our wedding was absolutely perfect. Our guests raved about the Art Gallery where we hosted our cocktail hour and were blown away by the actual reception space. All of our guests loved the food and atmosphere. The Jimmy's staff went above and beyond to make it an unforgettable day for us and for our guests. If you are looking for a vibey, cool, moody and romantic venue for your wedding that is unlike any of the traditional ballrooms/wedding ve...

This is an amazing intimate music venue, with fantastic food, service and drinks!! We came to see The Fabulous Thunderbirds and left wanting more of their music, the venue, food and drinks! First, OMG KIM WILSON has honed his craft and maintained his amazing voice, art and craft! Second, Jimmy's is a fantastic venue with a wonderful team and solid food and drinks! What a great night of blues in a fabulous place!
