I was travelling with 2 friends and we are young women. Unlike other reviews we never felt unsafe here. The staff are always happy to help and answered any questions. We were on the bottom floor and it was very quiet - didn’t hear any road noise besides a couple of blue light vehicles (obviously). The room is old fashioned but that isn’t a bad thing. We enjoyed the decor and were super stoked to have a bath! The room also had a fridge and microwave and there is coffee/hot water facilities 24/7. Also they offer cookies in the evening and a big variety of breakfast options in the morning. It is a do it yourself buffet style, but that works for us! I was looking for a quaint and cute place and I FOUND it. I loved staying here and wish I made my stay longer. The staff was super helpful and nice. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. This is the longest running hotel in Portland so I was slightly worried about the AC but there were no problems at all. The room had a great window unit and it kept the place icy. HUGE bonus that they had gluten free muffins for breakfast. I usually have to skip hotel breakfasts so it was really nice to see that.

Enjoyed the stay! Don’t listen to the negative reviews. Some people just want everything to be flawless like it’s a Hilton or something, if you want that then pay the Hilton $400. This place is quirky, affordable, free parking and right by a highly rated Thai restaurant that you should try. Staff is super-friendly and the breakfast is small but well-stocked with essentials.

The room is relatively small,not bad as its just me. The room is clean theres towels,hair dryer,safe. AC works well. There's no toilet in this room,theres a shared bathroom,which i did know about.The parking leaves a lot to be desired,the lot outside the building is very small. If you drive a truck or large suv its really tight. Theres very few spaces as well,additional parking is one street over.

Very quint and historical building. The stairs, are fun, you wont get now often this kind of building with no elevator. But it has its own victorian charm. Location is great next to downtown. Additional parking lot available block away is an added amenity in busy downtown. Rooms are clean and tidy. Staff and lobby is welcoming. Breakfast was simple but excellent. We will definitely come back.
