Planning perspective
What to consider before reaching out
A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.
For a catering partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

Edward and his staff are true professionals. From the first phone call, it’s clear Edward knows food. He was professional, always early, and so easy to work with. And the food: incredible. I dream about the lion’s mane mushrooms he prepared for us. The steak, chicken, apps, and service were all impeccable. His flavors are balanced and original. His professional team made our perfect day even more so.

French Picnic catered our wedding this summer at Marianmade Farms for 175 guests. Each and every guest praised the food! Not only was it colorful, fresh and local but it was so delicious! And family style allowed for everyone to sit back, relax and talk among each other and try a bit of everything. The passed apps were incredible, I think our favorite was the lobster and the salmon. Each time we walked past the raw bar, we were able to watch our guests enjoy some of our favorite things about Maine. Ed was incredible to work with, from the tasting to the prep the day of, he truly went above and beyond to make our day so special, and there’s no words to truly express the amount of gratitude ...

French Picnic is AMAZING!! As a wedding photographer, I get to enjoy more catered wedding meals than most and have never felt more compelled to leave a review as I was after this weekend! The staff spoiled me with oysters, a full plate of delicious food & were so so kind to me. I will be recommending to all my couples going forward! Thanks French Picnic!

These guys were fantastic. Edward was easy to work with, knowledgeable, and passionate. Our guests said that the food was unreal; some steak lovers said that the steak we served was the best they had ever had. The whole thing was seamless and lovely. Really can't recommend Edward and his team highly enough.

When we started planning our wedding, we put food at the top of the priority list and would choose Edward and his team over and over again! It was clear from our first phone call that Edward was passionate about food (including where it came from, which is typically locally sourced), his team, and your experience. We had a private tasting with him and his team where we were blown away by the quality of the food making us incredibly confidant going into our wedding day that our guests would feel the same way. Edward was responsive and flexible throughout the planning process making it stress-free. Most importantly, we couldn't have been more pleased with them on our wedding day. The food...
