Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

Chez Nous was the perfect setting for our fall wedding — the outdoor space is absolutely stunning, which includes a modern barn and a fantastically renovated mansion, and everywhere you look feels special and inviting. John and Cheryl, the owners, are a joy to work with. They made booking and planning so easy and were always accommodating, kind, and responsive throughout the entire process. One of the things we liked is that Chez Nous doesn’t require you to use specific vendors, which gave us freedom to make the day our own — for example, we brought in a DJ from Massachusetts who was recommended by a friend. The venue offers endless opportunities to personalize your celebration, from two ou...

Beautiful venue. Ceremony space was so remarkable looking at the large boulders and wooded terrain. And after the ceremony, we ended up having the drinks and appetizers in the mansion which was perfect. The reception barn was roomy and fantastic. John and Cheryl were wonderful hosts. Highly recommend this site for your wedding or any other event.

Owners John and Cheryl have created an exquisite venue in Chez Nous. This beautifully restored mansion and newly built barn were the perfect backdrop for our rehearsal, wedding and brunch. Our guests enjoyed every inch of this incredible property. John and Cheryl's attention to detail shines through in every square inch of the mansion, the guest house and the barn. They were extremely easy to work with, supportive of our vision and so eager to share their property with us and our guests. We couldn't have chosen a better venue.

What a beautiful wedding venue! I was the photographer & videographer for a wedding in the beginning of November. The mansion was a beautiful spot for the girls to get ready and gave lots of great photo spots. Also a cool cocktail hour space. The ceremony outside was beautiful and rustic, and the barn was cozy and so nice for the reception. As a vendor, I appreciated a separate space to rest & eat.

This place was an absolute gem! I had seen this place online and after we came by for a tour, I was absolutely sold. The barn has indoor plumbing, heating, and more than enough space for a party and the mansion is stunning! We ended up booking the cabin as well for the wedding party and everything was just wonderful! The atmosphere was so rich and inviting and the location has so many wonderful spots for photos! Fair warning though, the little outdoor fire pit area did set off the fire alarms when it started smoking, but the hosts were amazing and helped us through it despite how late it was! Simply put, it was a magical experience all around and well worth the price!
