Planning perspective
What to consider before reaching out
A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.
For a entertainment partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with DJ Bobby Freedom for karaoke nights, live music events, and catching him at full DJ sets — and he absolutely crushes it every time. Bobby knows exactly how to read the room and keep the energy high all night long. Whether he’s spinning tracks, hyping up the crowd for karaoke, or mixing live with the band, he keeps the party going strong and makes sure everyone is having an amazing time. Professional, fun, and seriously talented — if you want your event to be a hit, book DJ Bobby Freedom. You won’t regret it! 🎉

I hired Bobby for my husband’s Army retirement party after 25 years of service, and the experience was extremely disappointing due to a lack of professionalism, communication, and appropriate conduct. From the start, there was very little communication on details. After signing the contract and paying the deposit, I did not hear from him for 8 months. At no point did he reach out to request a timeline, music preferences, announcements, or any other essential event details. He did not provide any planning forms or guidance on what information he needed or when it was due. The only reason he had any details is because I had to contact him the day before the event wondering if he was even go...

Saw him play an amazing harmonica. Had a blast doing karaoke at the party he hosted. He’s a heck of a good DJ, highly recommended! Had a blast at his live performance.

I attended a military retirement party where this DJ was hired, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. Throughout the event, he made negative comments about the host to their own family members and conducted himself in a way that felt highly unprofessional. What was especially concerning was the use of random “USA” chants and concerning bomb sound effects during an event honoring military veterans. Many guests found these choices inappropriate and in poor taste given the audience and occasion. In addition, he was frequently loud, confrontational, and at times appeared to be yelling at guests rather than helping create a welcoming atmosphere. A DJ should help elevate an ev...
