Planning perspective

What to consider before reaching out

A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.

For a venue partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

We went in for lunch on my wife's birthday and had a really wonderful lunch with great service. My wife had the French Dip on a sub roll with a couple of glasses of wine and I had the Turkey sandwich on brioche with a glass of wine. Awesome portions and for what we thought were reasonable prices- you'd pay as much elsewhere and you would not be as happy! The fries were hand cut and really crispy and seasoned- they should enter Best Fries in NH voting. We had the decadent chocolate cake for dessert and the pastry chef sent out a chocolate disk with berries and homemade whipped cream- both were a really nice ending to a great lunch. We worked in fine dining restaurants for Swiss trained chefs,...

Dining was elegant for Easter Dinner but food was not up to par or price. The bisque and chowder were very good but we weren't allowed to split and have salad and soup. Pear and arugula salad was excellent. My friend and I split the soup at the table once we procured an extra bowl. Understand that chef cared about the presentation if the bisque with dribbled flavors in the decorative flavored oils....in the beautiful scalloped edged white bowl. My friend got the duck. Ordered it medium, found the skin unappealing and difficult to cut off. She thought the duck breast was tough, I thought it was as tender as a medium steak, not a rare one. My husband's grilled eggplant was served on cold ch...

We recently enjoyed a wonderful baby shower brunch for my daughter at the BVI. Julia, our event coordinator and was so helpful in helping us plan and the day was perfect! We booked the private East Room, which is lovely, and it was so nice to laugh and chat without worrying about disturbing adjacent tables. Hunter, our server, was excellent and her cheerful attitude and upbeat energy kept everyone smiling and their glasses full. We never felt rushed so everyone, especially the Mom-to-be, could truly relax and enjoy the day. The brunch menu was excellent and our guests were very pleased with their tasty choices. From the moment we arrived the BVI staff were very welcoming and helped to mak...

For years, this establishment has been a favorite destination for my family. My wife and I, along with our three young children, have proudly considered ourselves loyal regulars. However, a recent and incredibly disheartening experience has ensured we will never return. We recently arrived a half-hour early for our 5:30 PM reservation to find both the indoor dining room and the patio almost entirely empty. Given the beautiful weather and the abundance of vacant outdoor tables, I politely asked if we might be seated on the patio instead. Rather than accommodating a simple request, or even politely declining, the manager chose to berate me. I was spoken to like a child and threatened with a...

We had a wedding shower in their beautiful Great Hall. We had about 100 guests. The event planner Olivia was amazing at helping us with details, floor plan, food, timings, and many small details. The event went flawlessly and all servers paid attention to details, did everything perfectly. We never had to remind them about anything, it was taken care so beautifully This is a gorgeous venue for showers and weddings. The food is amazing. I would highly recommend this place 👍
