Planning perspective
What to consider before reaching out
A strong first conversation is about fit, not just availability. Share your date, approximate guest count, location, and the feeling you want the day to have. Ask what is included, what typically changes the final quote, and what decisions need to be made earliest.
For a hotel rooms partner, confirm how communication works, who will be present on the day, and how the team handles changes. Pricing was not included in the supplied research, so request a current, itemized proposal directly from the business.

Our whole family was extremely disappointed because our trip to Acadia had to be canceled after our flight was canceled. Unfortunately, there were no available flights that would allow us to get to Acadia for several days, making the trip impossible. I understand that our cancellation deadline had already passed, but I tried calling the hotel several times to explain the situation and ask if they could make an exception. Unfortunately, no one answered, and the voicemail box was full, so I had no way to speak with anyone. I eventually had to have my credit card company reach out to the hotel on our behalf. Even after explaining the circumstances, the manager refused to allow the cancellatio...

-Booked last minute, thought I was settling, turns out it was the best decision I made. Stayed 8/11-16 and wasn’t sure of the bar harbor layout. This motel is right up the street within walking distance of the harbor and has plenty of parking. Sure you could stay on the strip but some of these hotels and air bnbs are without parking and your car is out on the street….leave to go To Acadia and you have to find parking again. We preferred to walk to the action and then retreat back to peace and quiet. Although with the exception of a few bars and taverns most places close at 10 anyway. And on day of checkout you can leave your car for the day. We stayed in the newer annex building and the r...

We stayed in the king suite and it seemed recently remodeled and was very clean and cozy! The location here cannot be beat! You can walk to downtown Bar Harbor in just a couple of minutes and the drive to Acadia is just as close. We had a great stay!

The very best front desk service! Natalle greets everyone with a great smile and willingness to solve every problem! She really solved our problem when we discovered that we had booked the wrong date and the Anchorage Motel was completely booked. Without us even asking, Natelle willingly made many phone calls to find us alternate accommodations within the hotel's 12 sister properties. All worked out, and we had a lovely Bar Harbor experience thanks to the exceptional treatment we had with Anchorage Motel staff. And, the motel property itself looked to be very well maintained. Good access to downtown Bar Harbor.

This is the second time we have stayed here. We really appreciate the affordable price and being in easy walking distance to everything we need in Bar Harbor. It's older, and definitely not fancy, but the rooms are clean and very comfortable, and the staff have been great both times.
